10 Dollars Off From Junk Mail

30 Jul 2012 5:19 PM | Hot Guy (Administrator)
When I picked up my mail from my rented postal box inside the U.S. Post Office, I separated the regular mail from the junk mail. When I checked the junk mail, I saw a flyer from Office Depot with a card offering “$10 Off your qualifying purchase of $50 or more”. It so happened that I need some supplies from any computer store such as ink for my Canon MP830 printer, mouse for my laptop, and electric power converter for my laptop when I travel abroad.

So one day, I went to an Office Depot store near my home and bought the supplies I need like the following (see the picture below):

1. Travel Adapter (electric power converter from 220 volts to 110 volts) for my laptop computer: cost - $23.99

2. Black ink for my Canon MP830 printer: cost - $17.99

3. Computer mouse, with retractable cord: cost - $10.49

Total cost for the 3 items - $52.47 (more than $50.00 to qualify for the promotion)

Deduct the promotion of $10.00, I just paid $42.47 (a 19.06% discount or savings)

Some people write letters to Direct Marketing Association (DMA) to delete their names from their marketing list. I did not do this because I know that there are some money and savings that I can find in the junk mail. This saving strategy, although small, is one of the various tools on how to become rich. That is why I love to receive junk mail every week. So if you are one of those who requested the DMA to remove your name from its marketing roster, you may want to reconsider your decision.

Quote for the Day:

“There is one who scatters, and yet increases all the more, and there is one who withholds what is justly due, and yet it results only in want. The generous man will be prosperous, and he who waters will himself be watered”. (Proverbs 11:24-25)
