Checking account. Open a checking account with a commercial bank or credit union. Your money in this account will pay all your purchases from online and offline stores.
Credit card or debit card. You will use the credit card or debit card in paying for online and offline services and goods.
Computer and printer. Use your computer and printer if you already have them. If not, buy them from any computer store.
USB (universal serial bus). Use this to save your e-book files for easy portability. In the USB, create a file folder like: E-BOOK-SELLING AT EBAY. If you have a second file folder like: E-BOOK-HOW TO CREATE A NEWSLETTER, create this in the same USB. In case your computer crashes, you can use the USB in another computer and continue your e-book writing without delays.
Internet connection. Apply membership with an Internet Service Provider to access the Internet.
Browsers. When you purchased your PC (personal computer), the Internet Explorer (IE) browser was already installed. In addition to the IE browser, you must download the free Google Chrome, Safari, and Mozilla Firefox browsers to your computer hard drive. Use the different browsers to view your e-book and make changes if there are problems.
Microsoft Manual of Style. Borrow this book from your library or buy this from any online or offline bookstore. This book is a reference tool to guide you in your writing style, English grammar, punctuations, and many others.
OpenOffice.org Suite software. Download this free software from www.OpenOffice.org to your hard drive and use the Writer program to create your e-book.
Adobe Reader. Download the free Adobe Reader program from www.adobe.com to your hard drive and use this to view and read your .pdf-converted e-book.
Dictionary and thesaurus. Bookmark the www.TheFreeDictionary.com homepage in your Favorites for ready access every time you have questions on a particular English word.
Books and magazine. Borrow books and magazines from your local libraries to get ideas on your e-book project.
Supplies. You may need some paper, paper clips, Manila folders, pens, ruler, stapler and staple wires, scotch tape, and others.
Epub converter. Download the free Epub softwarefrom http://epubreader.info/ to convert your e-book which you created using the OpenOffice.org Writer program.
Open membership accounts with websites. You must apply membership with Amazon.com, Google.com, e-Junkies.com, Clickbank.com, and other websites where you plan to submit and sell your e-book.
Tax identification number. You will be required by all websites, where you plan to sell your e-book, to submit your tax identification number (TIN). The selling websites are required to report to the U.S. Internal Revenue Service the names, addresses and TINs of its e-book sellers when they received an income of $600.00 or more.
Quote for the Day:
“But when you give to the poor, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving will be in secret; and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you”. (Matthew 6:3-4)
